SELF CARE

This week’s edition of Summing Up the Week is a summary of the last 3 weeks. Mr. Wright and I have been hard at work prepping our Houston house for the new tenants, moving our family and the Studio back to Dallas, and generally just wrapping up our time in Houston. Along with all of that, I have been designing the new studio office space, working on client designs, and continuing to build out the Studio’s content calendar. It’s been stressful to say the least. To help me cope with the stress, I have started running. I am working on a Couch to 5K program, so I am gradually building up to a 5k. I am so thankful for this time. It really helps clear my head, I stay energized during the day, and there is something about the mental battle that occurs during the run that I love.

EVENING TRIP TO PEDIATRIC URGENT CARE

We traveled to Dallas 3 weeks ago to tour a school for a our daughter. After the tour we were playing in the front yard with our little girl. Out of nowhere she just started crying and her arm went limp. We put on ice on it, but she would not let us move it. After discussing with our friend Jana Spillers over at Bishop Babies, we decided to take her to a Pediatric Urgent Care. Jana believed she dislocated her elbow. Our trip to the urgent care facility, confirmed Jana’s thoughts. Our little girl had in fact dislocated her elbow. The Doctor told Mr. Wright that it is common for children our daughter’s age to dislocate their elbow. We had no idea and we still don’t know how she dislocated it.

PATIO

We wrapped up the back patio design and build out last week. We ended the build out with a fun holiday styling and entertaining shoot. Furthermore, I asked and you voted, so I am currently working on a “How To” back patio post. We are working hard to provide you all with some great content to get you through the 2020 Holiday season and into 2021. I don’t know about you, but I am ready to get the 2021 show on the road because we can only go up from here.

PINTEREST

A few weeks ago we finally created the Studio’s Pinterest account and familiarized ourselves with the format. Not even 48 hours later, Pinterest completed an update and changed the format. This seems to be the way of 2020, so we laughed it off and spent last week correcting a few items that were lost or moved in the update. We are still familiarizing ourselves with the new format, but our initial thoughts is it doesn’t feel as intuitive as the previous format. That could just be because the previous format was what we first learned. You should check out all the inspiration we have discovered and follow the Studio on Pinterest.

SUMMER TO FALL WARDROBE TRANSITION

This week, I spent some time shopping for some key waredrobe pieces for the Summer to Fall transition. Mango is my new favorite place to shop along with Madewell and JCrew. I am linked a few of my favorite finds.
