SEE YOU LATER 2020

The last Summing Up the Week post I wrote was on October 9, 2020. This is the first blog post for 2021. You know what that means? We made it. We survived. We all need to take a moment and celebrate that fact alone. For my family, the first three quarters of the year were not terrible, but the Q4 kicked my tail. However, let’s be real, 2020 was nothing short of disaster for pretty much everyone except Jeff Bezos. I know my husband and I are on our plan Z. We blew through plan A-Y and if you know anything about me you know that I NEED and LOVE a good plan. I know that it is related to my Enneagram, but I have no idea what number. I will say plan Z is looking promising and it sure as heck should. To celebrate the new year we went over to my best friend’s house and had a wild party with 3 kids and called it a night around 9 p.m. I mean that’s the way to sayonara to the worst year ever.

A LOOK AT THE BRIGHT SIDE

Although, 2020 was a disaster there are some solid gold nuggets that I will cherish for a lifetime. What are they you ask? First, I met some amazing friends on Instagram. These ladies showed me some real love during a very difficult time in my life. I didn’t even ask. They just came through like Wonder Woman. Did I mention I have never even met them in person? I know right. Talk about some good people. Another highlight of the year, we moved back to Dallas, TX from Houston, TX. It only took us four moves in four weeks to get settled. Let’s just say the month of October was a little rough. However, we did find an amazing school for our daughter and she loves it. Another chart topper for the year, I had my first published article. If you missed the article you can read all about my journey here. Another highlight, I get to see my best friend almost every week. Mind blown. Why are we friends you ask, because she shares my love for paper planners. What more could you ask for in a best friend? Interested in my knowing my favorite planer? I got you covered. You can check them out below.

A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS

For Christmas I received this mini donut maker and it has been a hit at our house and beyond. It makes the tiniest donuts in about 15 mins. The donuts disappear in about 5 minutes, so just be prepared to make more. On a slightly different note, I have been meal planning for about 2 months now and have discovered many amazing recipes. Therefore, the Studio is starting a new weekly series titled “The Sunday Dish.” The series will run on Sunday and provide you the scoop on the daily dishes I have been cooking for my family. It will include the meals planned, shopping list, and recipes for the week. Friday night is always homemade pizza night and we love sitting down as family to make the pizzas. We make our pizza dough from scratch and I will share just how to make homemade pizza dough. It’s something I hope we continue for the foreseeable future. Last but not least, I have been watching the after holiday sales and have purchased a few items. I purchased these J.Crew jeans. I already had them in black, but decided to purchase in a denim color. These jeans a solid denim with very little stretch. I would recommend sizing up a size. I have included a few other items I love below.

That about sums it up. Have a great weekend.
