Summing Up the Week: From Ralph Lauren to Home Furnishing Frenzy

Welcome back to "Summing Up the Week," where I reflect on the highlights, discoveries, and musings of the past week. Come along as I explore Ralph Lauren's legacy, check out Costco's comfiest sheets, and sneak a peek at what's happening behind the scenes of our upcoming home photoshoot. And of course, we'll take another look at the Amber Lewis X Four Hands collection.

NO 1:

Exploring the Legacy of Ralph Lauren

This week ended with a viewing of two separate, but equally interesting documentaries, "Very Ralph” and “Fake Famous.” If you have time I highly recommending viewing both. The juxtaposition of these two documentaries was interesting. The ideals are similar in nature, but the execution to the end game was completely different. “Very Ralph”, is a documentary that delves into the life and career of fashion icon Ralph Lauren. From his humble beginnings to building a global empire, the film offered profound insights into the man behind the brand and his unparalleled influence on the fashion industry and people. He crafted characters that exuded the American Dream, but in a way that was aspirational but also attainable for the everyday person. While, “Fake Famous” centered around influencers making themselves the main character and their lifestyles, while aspirational, are far from attainable, even for themselves. Utimately, my take was their lifestyle is fake and unfulfilling.

What I do is about living. It’s about living the best life you can and enjoying the fullness of the life around you- from what you wear, to the way you live, to the way you love.

My Favorite Sheets from Costco

In the quest for comfort and quality, I stumbled upon my new favorite sheets at Costco. I have tried so many brands Target, LL Bean, Eddie Bauer, Pottery Barn, etc. The blend of affordability and luxury makes them a standout choice. If you're on the lookout for bedding that's both cozy and chic, these sheets might just be your perfect match. The only downside, is they have a limited selection of colors. However, you really can’t go wrong with crisp white sheets. Moreover, they're practically wrinkle-free!

The RAce to Furnish

With the photoshoot for my home approaching on June 24th, the race to furnish and decorate is in full swing. Every piece carefully selected, every corner meticulously curated, the anticipation of seeing the transformation from 'before' to 'after' is so close I can taste it. I am just praying everything arrives in time. Stay tuned for a sneak peek into the journey of creating my own personal sanctuary. I have brought an amazing team to capture my own home and it is going to be a wild ride.

NO 4:

Amber Lewis X Four Hands Collection

Not a highlight from this week, but nonetheless deserving of a highlight this week is exploring the Amber Lewis X Four Hands collection showcased at High Point Market. The fusion of Amber Lewis's signature bohemian aesthetic with Four Hands' craftsmanship resulted in a stunning array of furniture and decor pieces. These pieces are not only beautiful, but they are affordable. Amber and Four Hands literally handed us her style on a silver platter. From cozy sofas to eclectic accents, each item exuded timeless elegance and effortless style. You will see several pieces showcased in my own house. I included a few of my favorites in affiliate links below. Check out our Reel on Instagram to see our video recap of our viewing of the collection at High Point Market.

That concludes this week's installment of 'Summing Up the Week.’ Keep an eye out for next week’s addition.

Live Inspired,
