Summing Up the Week: Start Somewhere, Anywhere

Currently, our team is working diligently to deliver content that inspires, equips, and empowers you to design your own living spaces that enhance your daily lives and helps create lifelong memories and moments. If you prefer, we are happy to do it for you just shoot us an email at hello@ledgerandladder.com. But in the end, we believe that you can do it and we are here to help you on that journey. For years I have wanted to start a blog. I would start and feel like I didn’t start in the right place, so I stopped. Well I am hear to tell you, I am starting and not stopping. I am taking my own advice and starting somewhere, anywhere. I am introducing the Summing Up the Week Series. This blog post format isn’t new, but it is new to me. So without further ado, let’s dive in and highlight the notable things from this past week and start somewhere.

Labor Day Weekend Sales

1. I am definitely not a fashion blogger, so I will leave that to the experts like my sweet friend Angeline over at Sometime Saturday. However, Madewell and Jcrew are having a Labor Day sale. I also found cute items at H&M & Target. As we round the corner and enter into the Fall season, I am looking for those pieces that will transition from Summer to Fall. Here are a few of my favorite items I scored

Puff Sleeve Top

Ruffled Tunic

Demin Dress

Pleated A-Line Skirt

AIRSTREAM INSPIRATION

2. Our Airstream project is about to kick off and I couldn’t be more excited. Taking in a lot of inspiration around tiny living and airstream renovation. ICYMI, check out the original mood board and the flay lay to see the inspiration for the Airstream.

SKINCARE EDUCATION

3. Do you guys follow Shereene Idriss on Instagram? She is a Board Certified Dermatologist. She demystified skincare and change the whole ballgame for me. I love my washing my face now. Is that crazy?

NO MORE SHOWINGS

4. We officially took our house of the market in Houston. We listed it back in May and had so many showings. It was incredibly stressful because everything was shut down, so I had to load up our little girl and the dog in the middle of the heat and basically drive around the neighborhood. Did I mention we were potty training our little girl during this time? That made everything so much more delightful. I look back and laugh at those times now. We will be listing our Houston house for rent in the next few months, so if you know any interested drop me an email at hello@ledgerandladder.com. You can find pictures of our house here.

NEW EMPLOYEE

5. Michelle, our newest team member has been with the Studio for about 2 weeks now and she is amazing. I was not planning on hiring anyone at that moment, but she reached out to me and it just felt right. Sometimes, as an entrepreneur you just have to go with your gut even when it might not make complete sense. Let me tell you hiring her energized me to get my act together and get this studio going. Great things are headed your way, sign up for our newsletter below to stay connected. Don’t forgot to confirm you subscription. We don’t want you to miss out.

That about sums it up. Have a great weekend.
